Today was our first official OBGYN appointment and our second sonogram. At our last sonogram baby Joyner was 4.3mm or approximately the size of a grain of rice. This time the baby measured 3.4cm, or about 1.3in. We could clearly make out 2 arms and 2 legs (which were moving furiously by the way), we could see fingers, toes, the torso and the head. We heard the heart beat, which was steady as a metronome at 150bpm.
They also gave us our official due date of December 7. A little later than we originally thought which is good because that means we'll be able to attend one extra football game in Austin! We also learned that many of the commonly held beliefs about what can and can't be done while pregnant are wive's tales. Dr. Doke is great and we are glad to have found him in Midland.

Well it is true most of those "beliefs" are pretty much nothing but old wives tales and it only gets worse once the baby is born.
ReplyDeleteFeel free to call I am an old hand at Joyner babies now.
