Much Better
Well the poor thing still can't breath and she HATES having her nose syringed. We have to hold her down to suck out all the boogies and she cries so hard. I hate it too...but she hasn't had a fever today, so I am very thankful for that progress and she is eating more. We also got a play met yesterday...Fay is very good at kicking the hell out of the rattles. Pics to come.

Sick Baby
Poor sweet pumpkin is sick! She has a serious sore throat, runny nose, and drainage. Goodness gracious it is so hard to watch your child suffer...Pray for our baby girl. I will let you know how she is feeling tomorrow.

Ranch weekend with 11 Joyners
This past weekend Dave and I hosted his parents and his brother's family at the ranch to celebrate Keith and Nancy's 40th wedding anniversary. It was the first time that Kevin and Erin and the boys had a chance to meet Fay, and her cousins were wonderful with her. Dave and I were surprised at how attentive the boys were, they all wanted to hold and feed her. It was really sweet. The weekend was tons of fun...here are a few pics. Also, my wonderful grandmother Mary Fay (whom Fay is named for) joined in on the celebration. She is Fay's GiGi Fay :)

Schedules
I am a planned person. I update my ical about 2-3 times a day with different appointments, and having a baby makes scheduling even more intense. Every trip takes thought and planning. Kind of right up my alley...now I have an excuse to be really anal.
To get everything in that I need to do we are on a very tight, eat, nap, run errands schedule. With time for me to shower, work out, have quiet time, do chores, feed and bath the baby. And spend some good time smiling and laughing with my sweet Fay.
Lately she has been rolling over! She likes to play for a little while, and laugh at herself when I put her down for naps. And she really squeals when she manages to roll over. I love those sweet sounds. All is right in the world when she is happy. I love to think about my mom having the same exact feelings about me, and it is amazing to now have this insane love in common.
Better go to bed, or I will get off schedule!

The Good Life
This week I made it back to the Y, and spinning has been kicking my ass, but I am so glad to have been cleared to excercise again. Sweating is cathartic and hopefully I will be able to drop these last few pounds.
And Fay has been just a picture perfect baby. She wakes up smiling and loves whistling. She naps and eats on schedule, and I can't get over how amazing she is. Her personality is coming through, and her laugh makes my heart sing. Also, for all those people out there that say you shouldn't put your baby in your bed, they are stupid. 99% of the time she sleeps in her crib but sometimes in the morning I bring her into our room and tuck her into bed. I love hearing her sweet sounds, and she likes to hold hands under the covers. I TREASURE this time...Dave snapped this picture over the weekend. I love it...

This picture just makes me laugh.

I also find myself living in the moment so much more than I used to. We are not focused on the future the way we used to be. All the things we had been planning for are here, a house, our own company, a child, and a happy marriage. Of course we still make plans for trips and dream about renovating the house, or buying a new car. But mainly I just wake up every day and enjoy my family. She will snuggle up into my neck and let out these sweet sighs and really that's all I want. I know this time is going to go so quickly...she will only be a baby for such a short time. I want to take in every bit of it.
I am so thankful that I am not working...I don't think I could stand not being the most important person in her world. She is certainly the center of our universe. There is no doubt that we are a loved and blessed family. Praise the Lord.
PS. She got her first round of shots on Tuesday and she weighed 9lbs 6oz! Still in her newborn clothes, but not for long!
