She Rolled Over!

I have been making Willa cry it out at nap time and today she apparently got so mad at me she rolled over from her tummy to her back and then she was really mad!  I couldn't help but chuckle a little when I came in to check on her and she was on her back with her lip stuck out as far as Dallas.  Little miss Willa didn't know she had just checked off a milestone...I put her back on her tummy (we tummy sleep because of her reflux) and then she went right back to napping.  Oh and she slept 9 straight hours last night...in the bouncy but at least it is progress.  I have been making her nap in her crib during the day in hopes of getting her ready to sleep in her crib through the night.  Willa bean I am so proud of you!

Thank You and Baby Wise!

Fay said thank you yesterday!  I have been trying for weeks to teach her when to say it and she finally got it.  Willa is doing so much better and starting to nap like her sister, we are very hopeful that it will just continue to get easier.  She also slept 6 straight hours last night!  Fay is so busy these days and has learned how to stack blocks, loves using her words, and is able to point and communicate better than ever.  It is hard for me to get out because someone is always napping but I have been able to make it to the gym every day this week.  I have so many pictures from Fay's birthday and the holidays that I need to upload...and I have a million thank you notes to write.  One day I will get through it all :)

A love letter...

To my sweet mother.  You are truly the most selfless person I know, whenever I call you are there.  And I have really needed you...needed you to hold my hand, dry my tears, rock my babies, and rock me.  You love unconditionally and are the perfect example of how to mother.  I hope to mother as well as you do and I can't thank you enough for the COUNTLESS sacrifices you continue to make for me and your grandbabies.  I thank my God that you are my mother and that my girls get to experience your wonderful love.  I now understand just how deep your love is for me and I know you would do anything imaginable to make my life better.  Well mom...it is.  It was a much better day today, and your love makes everything better.  Thank you for your help, your guidance, and your patience.  A mother's work is never done.

And has the chubbiest cheeks!  She doesn't look like a newborn any more!  She has already outgrown the newborn diapers, has finally lost her cord stump, and is starting to like the bath.  Here are a few things that she is into these days....

being in the bjorn
sleeping in her bassinet
ducky pacifier
sleeping on her tummy
eating
sleeping
pooping

And not sleeping through the night...party.

We love you pretty girl...pictures to come tomorrow.

Hectic

Checking in...I have been wanting to blog so badly but every spare moment I get I try to sleep, but I want to document what life is like these days.  Hectic is the best way to describe it...I knew it would be hard and it is, but at the same time there are moments of true bliss.  Fay has had a hard time, she doesn't understand and the only way she knows how to react is to whine or throw a tantrum, mostly when I am feeding Willa.  She kills me with her smiles, and its hard to see her struggle with this new role of big sis...in fact it is heartbreaking to have her saying and crying "mama" while trying to push her sister out of the way to get in my lap, where just a month ago she was so welcome.  Oh how I wish I could have them both in my lap and love on them at the same time.

I am tired.

But trying to remember that this only lasts a little while.

I love my girls so much and I have to remember that I am not guaranteed tomorrow with them, I only get today.  I tell myself in the middle of the night that I am glorifying God by taking care of his child and that only I can fulfill the needs of this baby.  I am their mother and they need me...and that feels good.

In the midst of all of this I missed Fay's first school program.  I didn't pay attention to the flyer that was sent home in her bag, probably because I was trying to hurry to the next person that needed me but either way I missed her jingling her bells today.  I WAS DEVASTATED.  I cried after I learned that the Christmas play was today and that her class had participated and we were the only parents not present.  I felt like the worst mom, I know she didn't know I wasn't there, but I wanted to see her, I wanted that Christmas memory.  I promised myself today not to get too busy to see the small and big stuff.  I vow to be at every play or sporting event imaginable.

Other than being sleep deprived life is good...Dave and I are stronger than ever.  He makes me laugh in the midst of all the chaos and he is such an amazing partner.

Christmas is right around the corner and this will be the first year Santa comes to visit...so we are getting excited about that.  More soon...I hear a baby crying.
