Momma's Girl

Willa is my biggest fan...it's true.  She is such a cuddly Mama's girl.  This is a pic from when she was about 3 months old and I love it.

Fay is 18 Months

Here is an update on her stats:

22 lbs! (25th percentile)
75th percentile in Height

She says "No" all the time.  If she is starting to fall asleep you can ask her "are you tired" to which she will always so "No" even if she can't keep her eyes open.  Lamb Lamb (her stuffed lamb with a little cross on the front) still is her favorite item in the world.  She loves to take her stroller around the house and collect various items that she likes that day.  Dave and I joke it's her version of a homeless person's shopping cart.  Her crocs are her favorite shoes.  She still wears a size 3 diaper, is a very picky eater, likes to say "i do it," and wants to sit in my lap if Willa gets to.  So a lot of the time they are both right on top of me.  She has a bunch of teeth and lots of molars.  She is down to one nap most days unless she is really tired, then she takes two with little sister.  She is really starting to come around and think Willa is pretty neat.  Loves bath time and is just a really funny person.

Fay has a lot of personality and we crack up at her all the time.  Unless she is tired, or hungry she is a GREAT joy to be around.  And even when she is both tired and hungry she is still pretty awesome...

Love you Monkey.

29 Years and Counting

Yesterday was my Bday and I am 29.  It was a great day which actually spanned the length of the weekend.  Hell, at my age you have to take advantage of getting older!

Dave made me breakfast in bed on Sunday morning and fed Willa in the AM.  Which allowed me to sleep in!  Best gift maybe ever...then we got me crawfish from the HEB crawfish boil.  To know me is to know I love crawfish, and he watched Sarah's Summer Cottage with me while I ate my crawfish!  He hates that show but didn't make one rude comment.

Then on Monday Emily and Laura took me to lunch at Wall Street and it was a really wonderful girls lunch, and I had a vodka soda in the middle of the day...to which I took a nap at 2 when I got home.  Then we had sushi dinner take out with sake, watched the rangers, and turned in early.  Great DAY!  Dave got me new bedding and a Michael Young jersey so I can be cool and wear my Rangers shirt with him and the girls on game days.  And he got me a really funny card.

Birthdays really do just get better every year.  All my friends and family called and I just felt so loved.  I can't imagine it getting any better but here is to 30...I know you are looming out there...BRING IT ON!  I am going to kick 30's ass!

Weekend Review

Friday night we stayed in and made chicken.  Very exciting.  Saturday Dave installed new canned lights in our bedroom and a new speaker in the kitchen.  Both are very nice to have.  Saturday night was the Cancer party and we had a great time, home by 11.  Sunday, I was SO TIRED, church, MCC lunch, home/hospital, nap, and then pizza.

It was a nice weekend and Dave and the girls celebrated Mom well!  Fay picked out my peanuts card that played music...she thought it was so funny and she would dance to it...so I LOVED it.  And Dave got me a really pretty ikat print dress.

My grandmother was hospitalized over the weekend.  She had been diagnosed with pneumonia but the Dr. cleared her of that and they found a mass on her lung.  We won't know the results until late this week but pray it is not cancer and just a fungus.

Kid update-

Willa-Sits up all by herself, and takes a big girl bath (no more infant tub), she is sleeping much better after her dumb mother decided to feed her the biggest bottle she could make at night and she has been going 12 hours no sweat, napping great (10 and 2), just about ready to crawl (rocks back and forth and lunges forward), still loves to snuggle, can put her paci back in (praise GOD), and has the cutest grin with 2 little bottom teeth.

Fay-Talks ALL THE TIME, is bruised all the time, fearless, loves her cozy coupe car, still loves Harper best, runs into her grandparents arms, giggles all the time, still sleeps with puppy, white dog, and lamb lamb, still sucks her two middle fingers, will not eat any meat or veggie-only fruit, peanut butter, cheese and carbs, goldfish are still her very favorite, loves being sung to at night, says "this" and points constantly.

Happy kids=Happy parents.

I Shall Not Judge

I have to admit I have been one of those mothers that has thought to themselves..."oh your baby doesn't sleep, she must be doing something wrong"  Fay was/is an amazing sleeper.  She found her two middle fingers at 8 weeks of age and has been sucking them into sweet sleep ever since.  I had know idea how good a sleeper she is until Willa came along.

Last night Dave fed her at 6:30 (bedtime) then put her down.  Now I would expect a 5.5 month old to sleep until at least 5 or maybe 6.  However our Willa bean was up at 1am ready to eat.  I told myself I WOULD NOT FEED her in the middle of the night any more.  I have judged other women for feeding their babies when I believed you should just let them cry it out.  That's what I did with Fay and at most she would cry for 30 mins if she ever even woke up.  Willa on the other hand cried for 2.5 hours last night, and we are not talking a small whine and whimper.  This was an all out, pissed as hell cry for 2.5 hours, so finally I gave in and fed her.  Then she promptly wanted to be fed at 7am.

I am at my wits end.  This child should be sleeping!  I did it with Fay and I know I am not treating Willa that differently.  What the hell is going on....

We have seen her go 13 hours but it is infrequent.  10 Hours is about her max...I realize this is not a terrible track record, but I want her to sleep from 7-7 without waking me up.  That is the goal.

So needless to say I am not so smug any more...I used to be so smug about how well Fay slept.  Now I realize it isn't me, she is just a good baby.  And for the record so is Willa but if it's possible she may actually be more strong willed than Fay.

I prayed that I would have ambitious, independent, and smart girls....be careful what you pray for :)

I will not judge any other mothers, I will not question why they do things, I will not wonder about their marriages, and I will be humbled by these little creatures.  The truth is every mother is just trying to do their best, not kill their kids, and make it through the day without too many tears (their own or the child's).  So this post is to all the wonderful mothers I know...you are incredible women with amazing resolve.  We are all stronger than we think.

Oh and Fay and Willa are the boss of me.  I accept it.

Pics

A few pictures of late.  I realize that there aren't that many of Willa but when we are outside playing most of the time it is when she is napping.  Willa is just as gorgeous as ever and so is Fay.
