I have been reading all of my friend's blogs and many are posting what their kids are into so that they won't forget what they are like at this stage...I am going to copy them.
Fay is 11 months and...
-Loves bath time with her pink rubber ducky. She like to sing songs and "pray" why she is in the bath. She is amazing to watch but we have to end every night with discipline. She keeps wanting to stand up in the bath so we say one time "sit on your bottom" and then if she sits she can stay in...but if she stands up, we say "if you stand up again we have to get out" and then she will test us, get on her knees, and then go back to her bottom, but eventually every night ends the same way with a full stand and then "time to get out." At first I wasn't sure if she understood why she had to get out, but now a days we KNOW she knows what is going on. She cries a little in protest, and then we get her all bundled up in her doggie towel and then she will always snuggle up on us as a way of saying "sorry" I guess. Dave and I both MELT every time. We are already total suckers.
-She pulls up on everything and has taken a few steps on her own but still thinks crawling is the best way to get around.
-Harper is hands down her favorite "toy." She loves to feed him from her highchair, which we totally discourage but can't find a way to stop. She wakes up and looks for him, she offers him every toy she owns and loves it when he will play tug of war with her. Which she loses every time but never gives up. He makes her so excited...sometimes I get overwhelmed by the two of them because its like they are ganging up on me, but I have to give Harper credit, he takes the good with the bad and loves her dearly. That much is clear.
-She is crazy about going to Kaki's house (my mom and dad's). She claps and wiggles, and you can't get her out of the car fast enough when we pull up. The very sight of my mother is just enough to send her over the edge.
-Games are really fun, she loves hide and seek.
-Dad is better at rocking than mom. She has been waking up at night for some reason and we can't figure out why, I think she might be scared. But regardless if I go in and put her back down after rocking she freaks. But if Daddy comes in and rocks her she goes right back to sleep. I don't blame her, Dave can make me feel the same way :)
-When Dave gets home from work her world is transformed into a happier place. When he walks in the door it is one of the best moments of the day. Sheer joy for both of us!
-She also loves to shake her head back and forth. If you do it back to her she cracks up and thinks its a game. We all sit in the living room just shaking our heads and laughing.
-When she sits in her high chair she loves to be silly and arch her back and stare at the ceiling.
-She will lay her head down and pretend to go "night night" if you ask her "are you going night night?" She pops her head up with this huge grin, like "I tricked you!"
-And best of all she gives hugs!!! This is hands down my favorite thing. Dave and I can ask for a hug and she gives us one every time...It is truly a wonderful gift she gives us.
I could go on and on about all her little quirks...she has so many and is all personality. Which makes me so excited to see how she will continue to change and develop, and to imagine what her sister is going to be like. I can't wait to see how they will interact.
I went to the Dr today and I am 70-80% effaced and at a 2. Any day now...pray that she comes soon. I need to have this baby :)
Such a sweet post. I love to think about the boys doing all those sweet things. You are so lucky she loves Dave to put her to sleep. "sorry honey, you have to get up." tee-hee! I can't wait to see your new little lady!
