And We're Back

So much has happened since my blogging break. Thanksgiving, Christmas, and potty training! I am very proud of Fay she has done a pretty good job with it and she now sleeps in her big girl bed! She will tell you that she is not a baby, but a kid. If you ask her are you a big kid? She will tell you No, I am small kid. It's so funny.

Willa has been talking so much the past week. Here is a list of words she says regularly now:

Fay has started swim lessons at the Y and she is doing a great job. It's really fun to watch her learn and then tell you all about it.

I went to DC last weekend to visit Anna and Nick and it was a GREAT time! I got to see so many of my college friends that live up there and got to see Leigh Carter Young's baby Roman, who is a doll.

The girls have really started to hang out and play together and they are learning so much every day. Things are busy but really good.

Why I have been absent

I have been trying for weeks now to get my blog back to the layout and form it was in before.  I am VERY frustrated and have not posted because every time I sit down to do so I try and fix this problem again and again to no avail.

Does anyone know how to get old blogger back?  It keeps telling me my changes to revert have been saved but then I view the blog and it is still this new slick version that I hate and don't know how to use.  Any help would be great.  

McDonalds

Today was a good day...Emily Hammond is also the best Mom in town.  Em and I have kids almost exactly the same age and we were obviously pregnant at the same time and we both have little ones very close together.  Needless to say Em is a great friend...she is literally a gift in my life.

When we were both pregnant with number two we would daily get together so Jack and Fay could try and entertain each other and we could maybe sit down for a minute.  It became kind of a ritual but when number two arrived and there were several schedules and illnesses to plan around our visits became less frequent but our friendship is still strong!

Today when the girls were woke up from nap I was bored so we called the Hammonds to go get frozen yogurt.  They met us at the new place in town called Niki's and it was pretty good.  The kids loved it and did not want the party to break up so we headed to our house.  One glass of wine and about a billion cheerios later we decided the kids were hungry and that we would take them to McDonald's.

We looked like a circus coming to town, with the kids starving, dirty from yogurt, (Willa had spit up on me, which is now basically vomit since she eats normal food.), and all of our stuff.  The kids were so happy...turns out neither one of us had actually been to that McDonald's.  We ate in the play area and the kids played hard.  There was a GIANT tree that the kids can climb up into, which leads into this maze until you get to this big swirl slide that is really dark and kind of scary in my opinion.

Fay of course was NOT scared and immediately made her way into the maze.  I told her I was not coming to get her because I am terribly, terribly claustrophobic.  And that thing is kind of my worst nightmare.  She made it down fine but of course the little kids, aka Henry and Willa wanted to do the maze too.  Willa had to settle for the little slide, but Em climbed in with Henry and took him through the whole germ infested maze.  Henry was in HEAVEN...and Emily knew he would be.  Now that's Love!  Henry if you ever wonder how much your mom loves you, I will tell you that she crawled through the play maze not once, but twice.  True Love.

I love not only having Dave to walk through parenthood with but all of my great mom friends...some were my friends first and then we became moms...others were moms and then my friends.  Either way, I am grateful to have a village to raise kids in.  Oh Em...I thank my God for ya!

Football and Ponies

Fay attended her very first footballl game ever when we played Texas Tech!  The big screen and crowd noise is so loud we made her wear the protective ear phones.  Which she wore 90% of the time without any whining.  There was so much going on I don't think she noticed them most of the time.  Highlights were the fair of food inside the north club endzone, the paratroops flying in with the game ball, and cheering.  She absolutely loved cheering with everyone.  The popcorn and MMs were the big ticket item and she did great.  Willa stayed with Lauren our sweet babysitter at Katie Coleman's house (our new home away from home in Austin).  Thanks Katie!

Then we attended our friends Annie, Weezie, and Carter's birthday yesterday and there were ponies or "Neighs" as Fay calls them.  She was super duper excited and wanted to wear the hat maybe more than ride, such a fashinista at heart.  Of course Willa later wanted to ride and we didn't have the camera!  Ugh...poor second child.  Willa did so incredibly well and loved it!

They had colors!  Fay's very favorite activity.

October

Life is good.  In fact it is great!  I don't have much else to say.  Here are the pictures from our life the last month.  Very happy times indeed

 

Take the Money and Run

TX/OU.  Fay and I had to fly in by ourselves that morning because Willa had thrown up on the way to the airport. So Dave stayed home so I could see my sister...but Willa made a quick recovery and they came later that night.  So this is the Wallace clan having dinner before we go to pick up Dave and Willa.

After the big loss we headed to Nick and Sam's for dinner with Shan.  It was  a great night.  This is us in the lobby of the Stoneleigh after dinner.  Love you Shan!

The girls stayed with their grandparents that weekend and then Sunday we all met up and went to the pumpking patch.  It was cool and a near perfect morning all together.

I had to get new glasses this year and contacts.  Fay is modeling my old glasses.

OSU Game.  My mom and I went to the Container store that morning to design my new closet and then hit the game with Katie and Zach (not pictured).  My dad and Dave stayed at the ranch and watched the girls.

FPC Fall Festival

Mom's Birthday dinner at MCC.  I also hosted a happy hour with her girlfriends at the RC the Thursday before and I didn't get any pictures but it was a fun party and I wanted to do something special for such a special Mama!

Halloween.  Dinner was so fun at the Koch's house.  I think it is really cool that Laura , Anna, and I are all so close.  Being at the Koch's house is like being at home for me.  It was special to make this memory with all the people we love so much.  Thanks Koch's!
